There are many rewards to the work Mary Basili does but one is helping clients achieve their retirement goals and seeing them enjoy retirement. Another is when she sees a young person able to graduate from the university without incurring crippling student loans.
For the last 23 years, Basili has been helping clients obtain the retirement they want. Consisting mostly of retirees, pre-retirees, small business owners, and successful professionals, Basili’s clients experience personal relationship, care, joy and service that she delivers as they work together to determine their investment goals and develop a comprehensive strategy to help meet their goals.
Basili believes clients know her objective is to provide professional advice, sound risk management and personal service, and have sent many referrals throughout the years that helped her business grow.
Basili also helps her clients manage their retirement income needs in their golden years and works with estate planning attorneys and CPAs to pass on clients’ inheritances to their beneficiaries when the time comes.
“Helping people reach their personal and financial goals and seeing that through the different stages of life has been amazing,” Basili says. “That’s the reward.”
As a Financial Advisor with Wells Fargo Advisors, Basili has helped many families set up trust accounts, joint and retirement accounts, educational accounts for their children and grandchildren. One young man didn’t know his grandfather had set up an educational account for him until the grandfather had passed away. And whenever he comes in to pick up a check for tuition he is always so grateful, Basili says.
Basili is married and has put her own two children through university debt-free.
Setting up educational accounts is one of many things Basili does to help people, and families, help find financial security.
Basili feels her clients are very loyal to her and she has worked with multi-generations of families. One current client is the grandson and namesake of a client who has passed. She has worked with that family through all three generations.
“So I can tell my client I knew his grandfather,” Basili says. “It’s wonderful.”
Because each client is unique and there is no cookie-cutter solution, no matter how similar they may seem on the surface, Basili takes the time to personally get to know each client.
“Everyone is different,” Basili says. “There is no formula. What I do is tailored for each client.”
“And no two clients are going to be exactly alike,” she adds. “They will have different goals and different risk tolerances.”

Basili will make suggestions, if she sees there is room for improvement. But if the portfolio looks good, Basili is happy to let them know they are on the right track. And often people have investments in a number of different places. Basili will review all investments together to determine if they are right for the person.
“It never hurts to have someone take a second look,” Basili says.
Financial confidence is what it’s all about. And seeing people get that and enjoying retirement is very rewarding to Basili.
“The last 23 years have been very humbling. I am consistently amazed and incredibly grateful for my career and the difference I make in the lives of my clients,” said Basili.
