The Art of Tao Calligraphy by Master Zhi Gang Sha
Dr. and Master Zhi Gang Sha is a spiritual leader, Tao Grand Master, bestselling author, and the creator of the transformative art Tao Calligraphy, and Soul Mind Body Medicine.
Chinese calligraphy has long been much more than a form of communication. It incorporates ancient wisdom and artistry and a healing connection through China’s intellectual, artistic, and spiritual heritage.
Master Sha on the Art of Tao Calligraphy
“Chinese calligraphy is not only an art form, but a meditative practice,” says Master Zhi Gang Sha.
“This meditative practice supports a complete soul healing system by forming a basis for a healthy, happy, and prosperous life. This form of calligraphy, Tao Calligraphy, goes much further down this path of emotional and spiritual healing.”
Dr. and Master Sha planned to become a doctor from a very early age after witnessing people suffering from illnesses. As Chinese traditional medicine and Western medicine are fully complementary, Master Sha ensured that his education covered both. He received a medical degree in Western medicine from Xi’an Jiaotong University in China, a Master’s degree in Hospital Administration from the University of the Philippines, Certification by the WHO Institute of Acupuncture and Moxibustion, and trained in traditional Chinese medicine and acupuncture in China and Canada.
He began studying Tai Chi at just six years old. Master Sha went on to become a Grand Master of Tai Chi, I Ching, Kung Fu, Feng Shui, and was named Qigong Master of the Year in 2002 at the World Congress of Qigong.
All this learning, deep spiritual understanding, and experience in healing can be seen with Tao Calligraphy. In 2016, Master Sha received the highest Chinese calligraphy honours when he was appointed Honourable Research Professor at the State Ethnic Academy of Painting in Beijing and National Chinese Calligrapher Master.
Tao Calligraphy is part of the complete soul healing system of Master Zhi Gang Sha
Master Zhi Gang Sha combined his medical training and knowledge and the sacred wisdom he has learned through Qigong and other Asian arts with his understanding of practical techniques in healing to create Soul Mind Body Medicine.
Along with Soul Mind Body Medicine, Master Sha created a number of Tao teachings that aim to bring healing energy to facilitate transformation in those looking for better health and well-being, success, and inner peace and joy.
Among these teachings is Tao Calligraphy. This was created by Master Sha for people to experience the power of Chinese calligraphy in a new, healing way.
Master Sha founded the Tao Academy to offer courses, workshops, retreats, and certification programs to spread the Tao teachings.
Teaching Tao wisdom and the practice of Tao Calligraphy at the Tao Academy, Master Zhi Gang Sha has trained thousands of students, teachers, and practitioners.
He also sponsors scientific research studies into the benefits of Tao Calligraphy and other aspects of the Tao practices and Soul Mind Body Medicine.
How does Tao Calligraphy work?
Master Sha explains how the transformative art of Tao Calligraphy removes blockages and releases free-flowing energy that replaces negative energy and allows people to find better health, greater well-being, happier relationships, more success, and enhanced joy in daily life.
Chinese traditional medicine works on the basis that any kind of illness, depression, lack of success, and any other life problem is related to the blockage of qi.
Therefore, the clearance of these blockages allows qi to flow freely and contribute to soul healing through its sacred wisdom.
Tao Calligraphy is formed through free-flowing one-stroke artistry. It is therefore created in one stroke, one flow of qi.
Master Zhi Gang Sha says: “Qi is energy and the life force. With Tao Calligraphy and this oneness writing, qi is unified and made one.”
This creates the Tao Calligraphy Healing Field, which allows people who are practicing to benefit from this ancient wisdom and overcome any negative messages that are holding them down.
This power to heal is within everyone, and spiritual practices allow the wisdom to flow into the world, to help heal emotional imbalances, and to bring about a transformation in relationships and in one’s own inner essence.
Contextualizing Tao Calligraphy in the field of Chinese calligraphy
Chinese Calligraphy has been an art form much prized by many people for more than 3,000 years.
Through this artistic expression using black ink, paper, and brush, Chinese Calligraphy is a meditative practice that cultivates the power of qi, happiness, and general well-being.
Through the tracing, writing, and knowledge of Tao Calligraphy, individuals can create their own meditation practice that brings their soul spiritual peace and wisdom to heal and experience harmony in every aspect of life.
Tao Calligraphy is suffused with emotional and spiritual power that can be used to heal and transform.
The One-Stroke Calligraphy Lineage
Master Zhi Gang Sha learned One-Stroke Calligraphy (called Yi Bi Zi in Chinese) directly from Professor Li Qui Yun when she was more than 100 years old. She had gained her knowledge of Yi Bi Zi from supreme teacher Tai Shi, who had taught the royal family during the final Imperial dynasty of China.
Master Sha is the only lineage holder of Yi Bi Zi, which gives him a unique power, knowledge, and the healing spirit of this Oneness writing.
Traditional Chinese calligraphy is created with numerous characters. Oneness writing is written with only one stroke.
Developing Tao Calligraphy
Having fully mastered the unique Yi Bi Zi form, Master Sha wanted to use his knowledge and appreciation of Eastern arts to actively serve humanity.
He wanted to create a new soul healing practice that works with his teaching of traditional Chinese medicine. He created Tao Calligraphy to create a field of high frequency and vibration that nourishes soul, heart, mind, and body, and all aspects of life.
Exhibitions of Tao Calligraphy
Master Sha launched the world’s first exhibition of Tao Calligraphy and the soul healing that can be achieved through this art form in March 2017.
The exhibit was held at the Cultural Palace of Nationalities in China. During this exhibition, ten thousand visitors were able to witness the art of Tao Calligraphy and learn about its effect on the physical bodies and emotions of those taking part.
In addition to the major exhibition held in Beijing, the Tao Calligraphies have been exhibited in Bangkok, Thailand, and in Oahu, Hawaii.
Transformation through Master Sha’s Tao Calligraphy
There is no one better placed to describe the nature of this form of calligraphy than Master Sha, who has years of training to facilitate the flow of positive, healing energy.
Individuals can trace and retrace the calligraphy for themselves, which brings forth a meditative state. In other words, Master Sha creates an energy field that can be transferred to people through the very act of recreating the initial flow of the calligraphy.
He says: “Tracing this form of calligraphy recreates the experience I had first creating it. By tracing it over and over, the individual reaches a meditative state.”
While achieving this state, the person can then receive the positive messages flowing through the qi into their physical bodies and emotional mindsets.
“When you trace or write my calligraphy, it is infused with a positive energy flow. This is very similar to the energy source you can create through practising Tai Chi, for example. Only this time, it’s through the art form of Chinese calligraphy. The very act of tracing or writing the calligraphy is suffused with positive soul messages, frequency, and vibration.
Through this power, the qi and positivity come alive in the person’s soul, heart, and world. This allows the person to transform into their divine self, improve their relationships, understand themselves better, and heal their soul.”
A revolutionary way to heal mind, body, and soul
Tao Calligraphy, the life-transforming art of Oneness writing, creates a field of healing power. This energy field carries the very messages of love and positivity that can transform people’s inner and outer lives. This power contains messages of love, harmony, forgiveness, compassion, gratitude, and unconditional love.
By creating this unique field of vibrational energy, participants and adherents can not only transform themselves inside but their external relationships too.
David Meltzer, the cofounder of Sports 1 Marketing, is one of the many people who have transformed their lives through the transformative art of Tao Calligraphy:
“Tao Calligraphy allowed me to have more money, help more people, and have more fun in my life. If you look at the non-negotiables in my life, my health is number 1, my family is number 2, and 3 is the activity that I get paid for. By tracing and learning from Master Sha, I am more healthy and have better relationships, and I’m celebrating my 24th anniversary with my wife who he also healed. My children are happy and successful. You can’t ask for more than that but, on top of that, I am blessed with abundance. The money just keeps flowing to me. I have what they call in sports the Triple Crown of life from the Tao calligraphies. “
Tracing calligraphies to transform humanity
Master Sha developed this special art for humanity, for individuals to absorb the positive power and energy of the Tao Calligraphy Field.
Tracing the calligraphy for “Love Peace Harmony” connects the person mentally and emotionally with this message. And what could be more beneficial than truly feeling and manifesting love, peace, and harmony?
A renowned humanitarian, Master Sha founded the Love Peace Harmony Foundation. Since its formation, the Love Peace Harmony Foundation has spread healing messages and offered assistance to help people in many countries, including Nepal, the US, Canada, India, Bhutan, and South Africa. To help heal Mother Earth, they launched the Plant-A-Million project to plant trees around the world. The Love Peace Harmony Foundation is a tangible and impressive example of Master Sha’s practical techniques and humanitarian efforts to help transform and heal humanity and the world. Master Sha received the Martin Luther King, Jr. Commemorative Award for his contribution to fostering world peace.
