TACOMA — Tacoma police say one man is dead and another person is wounded in a gun battle that apparently occurred after a bar fight.
Police spokesman Mark Fulghum told The News Tribune that an undetermined number of people argued at a bar at about 2 a.m. Sunday. One group left in a car and an SUV, the other in a car. The first group shot at the second, then both dispersed.
But the two cars later found each other in south Tacoma, and the shooting began again about 4 a.m. The driver of the first car was shot and killed and his passenger wounded.
Five passengers from the SUV were detained; the other car was not immediately located. Fulghum said all involved are believed to be men in their 20s.
The victims’ identities were not immediately available.
