TOKELAND — One man died and a Coast Guard helicopter rescued two other men Wednesday from a boat that overturned near Ledbetter Point at the entrance to Willapa Bay on the Washington coast.
The 24-foot pleasure boat from Tokeland was reported overdue from a fishing trip Tuesday evening by a family member.
The Coast Guard launched search boats from Ilwaco and Grays Harbor and a helicopter from Astoria, Ore. The helicopter located the capsized boat at 7:15 a.m. Wednesday and hoisted two men aboard. They were transferred to emergency medical services at Tokeland.
The helicopter returned to the boat to recover the body.
The Coast Guard says the Washington Fish and Wildlife is recovering the boat.
