YAKIMA — Authorities say an officer shot and wounded a man after an alleged drive-by shooting and vehicle pursuit near Yakima.
The Yakima County Sheriff’s Office says a resident called police Monday afternoon reporting that someone had shot at his house.
The sheriff’s office says officers located the suspect vehicle, a chase ensued and that one of the people in the car ran from the car with a gun.
The sheriff’s office says the person ran into the area of a wrecking yard and then pointed a handgun at the officers. The sheriff’s office says at least one of the officers shot the person.
The sheriff’s office says officers administered medical aid and the person was taken to a local hospital where he underwent surgery.
Authorities say the vehicle chase continued until the car crashed and several others were taken into custody.
