SPOKANE — A 10-year-old boy who was shot in the head in a gang shooting in Royal City is reported in critical condition at Sacred Heart Medical Center in Spokane.
The Grant County sheriff’s office says the boy was sleeping in a trailer early Saturday when someone fired up to 15 shots into the home, trying to hit someone else in the family.
KXLY-TV reports deputies are looking for the shooter and trying to head off more gang violence.
Undersheriff John Turley says gang graffiti was sprayed in the neighborhood — the number 187, which is California penal code for homicide — written in a gang color and considered a threat to another gang.
