The family of a Lynnwood woman whose body was found two months ago hopes the promise of a reward will help catch her killer.
Gael and Rod Schneider are offering a $10,000 reward for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of whoever killed their daughter, Nicole Pietz.
Pietz, 32, was reported missing Jan. 29 after she failed to show up for dinner with family and friends the night before.
Her husband told police his wife left the couple’s Lynnwood condominium for a meeting in Renton, but never returned. Her body was found Feb. 6 in a wooded area in Burien in south King County. She had been strangled.
Reward offered.
A $10,000 reward is being offered for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person responsible for the murder of Nicole Pietz. Anyone with information about the Lynnwood womans death is asked to call the King County sheriffs tip line at 206-296-3311 or the Snohomish County sheriffs tip line at 425-388-3845. |
Her abandoned Volkswagen Jetta was discovered a couple of weeks later in a parking lot near the University of Washington in Seattle. There was a notice on the dirty car warning of unauthorized parking dated Feb. 10, according to a search warrant.
No arrests have been made in connection with her murder.
“It’s still a whodunit,” King County sheriff’s spokesman John Urquhart said. “Sometimes money will bring witnesses out of the woodwork.”
Sheriff’s detectives in King and Snohomish counties are investigating the case. Rod Schneider believes there is a witness out there who knows something about what happened to Pietz.
“We want to scare the rascal out. Hopefully, the money will bring additional witnesses and information to detectives,” he said.
Schneider and his wife have returned to their home in Arizona. They want answers, he said.
“We need to bring closure, and we want to see justice,” Schneider said.
