MONROE — Two people were hurt after a car drove off an embankment Saturday afternoon north of Monroe.
The sedan was driving westbound on 116th Street SE when the driver failed to negotiate a curve, said Capt. Mike Hill, the acting battalion chief for Fire District 3.
The car went down the embankment and caught fire.
By the time firefighters arrived, bystanders had put out the flames and the driver and three passengers had escaped.
Two people were transported to the hospital.
