EVERETT — Two people out for a walk on the Fourth of July were injured when someone threw a small explosive at them.
Snohomish County sheriff’s deputies and Fire District 1 medics were called around 10 p.m. to the intersection of E. Gibson Road and 124 Street SW, sheriff’s spokeswoman Rebecca Hover said.
The man and woman told deputies a small gray car went by and someone threw a firework or small explosive at them, Hover said.
The man suffered a serious leg injury, said Leslie Hynes, a fire department spokeswoman. The woman’s injuries weren’t as severe.
Both of them were taken to Providence Regional Medical Center Everett for treatment.
Deputies weren’t able to determine what type of explosive was used, Hover said.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Snohomish County sheriff’s tip line at 425-388-3845.
