2 killed in pickup collision near Everson

EVERSON — Two men in a pickup truck were killed early Tuesday when it collided with another pickup that swerved to avoid a deer on Highway 9 near Everson in Whatcom County, the Washington State Patrol said.

Two men in a Toyota pickup died at the scene, the patrol said. Two other men in a Ford pickup that swerved to avoid the deer were not injured.

The patrol said there was some fog in the area and roads were damp at the time, about 5:45 a.m.
