MIAMI — Two people are stranded high in the air aboard a stalled fair ride in Miami, and rescue officials are trying to get them down.
A fire department spokeswoman said a call came in at 1:54 p.m. today to report the stalled ride at the Miami-Dade County Fair.
News footage showed the seemingly calm riders turned horizontally in their seats, with their feet dangling above the fairgrounds. Rescue workers were shown climbing into a cherry picker construction device and approaching the ride.
Several rescue units were dispatched.
The ride stalled about two hours after the fair had opened for the day. The fair began Thursday and lasts until April 11.
