OLYMPIA — Two advisory measures will be on the general election ballot in Washington this fall.
Voters can tell the Legislature whether they think lawmakers should repeal or maintain revenue-generating bills.
The secretary of state’s office says Advisory Vote No. 8 deals with the elimination of agricultural tax preferences for aspects of the marijuana industry. Advisory Vote No. 9 deals with the imposition of the leasehold excise tax on certain leasehold interests in tribal property.
Information on the measures will be included in the voters’ pamphlet that will be mailed in October.
The votes are non-binding — the Legislature is not required to act. The advisory votes were created by a 2007 Tim Eyman initiative on tax increases.
