COUPEVILLE — The Everett Connector, aka Route 412, will start up again June 20 with a cash-only $2 one-way fare. Riders 8 years and younger ride free.
The Island Transit route runs from Terry’s Corner Park and Ride on Camano Island to Everett Station via Stanwood. It will make two morning trips and two afternoon trips.
The Connector was a commuter favorite for many years, but the special state funds that made it possible dried up in 2014.
After local outcry, state lawmakers put up some cash again — but only if Island Transit started to charge fares.
This marks the first time the agency has charged a fare on any of its routes since its first bus ride Dec. 1, 1987.
