The owners of Brown Bear Car Wash at 3511 Broadway installed a two-ton bronze grizzly bear statue in front of their business today. Herald photojournalist Dan Bates took the photo above.
The bear is still in its wrapping while workers put in rockery around the base of the beast. Looks a bit like the grizzly is eating his way out of mummy wrappings. I talked briefly with manager Jason Fiene. He said the business likes to have statues to draw attention. They already have a mama bear with three cubs nearby.
