EVERETT — Deputies with the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office are investigating what are believed to be two unrelated stabbings that were reported Tuesday evening.
The first occurred around 7 p.m. at the 12700 block of Admiralty Way, agency spokeswoman Shari Ireton said.
A 42-year-old Arlington man was confronted while attempting to break into an apartment, according to a probable cause affidavit. He reportedly stabbed another man who had approached him, and then ran.
The injured man was transported to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.
Police later found the suspect on the roof of a building along Highway 99, according to court papers. He was arrested on suspicion of first-degree assault and possession of methamphetamine. He also booked into jail for an outstanding felony warrant.
A second stabbing occurred around 8 p.m. at the 11900 block of Highway 99. A 23-year-old man boarded the bus after work and saw four boys he recognized. They approached him, hit him with a baseball bat and stabbed him, Ireton said.
A woman who had been on the bus ran into police who were investigating the earlier stabbing. She told a sergeant there had been in a fight.
The teens — ages 14, 15 and 17 — were booked into the Denney Juvenile Justice Center for investigation of first-degree assault.
