SEATTLE — Authorities say a 22-year-old driver arrested for hitting multiple cars on Interstate 5 is suspected of driving under the influence of drugs for a second time this week.
The Washington State Patrol says the driver smashed up to 10 cars on I-5 in Seattle during the busy Wednesday evening commute. Trooper Rick Johnson says the man drove the wrong way on the Columbian Way on ramp before stopping. Troopers say he ran from the scene but was eventually tracked down by Seattle police officers.
KOMO-TV reports that it was the second time this week that the driver was pulled over on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs.
Troopers say he stopped near Oak Harbor Tuesday was booked into Island County Jail on investigation of driving under the influence of drugs. He was released pending the outcome of toxicology reports.
