VANCOUVER, Wash. — Three candidates have been nominated by Clark County Democrats to replace former Washington state Rep. Jim Jacks.
The lawmaker abruptly resigned last month in the middle of the legislative session, citing “personal and family reasons.”
Nominated Monday night were: Sharon Wylie, a two-term Oregon state representative and a lobbyist in Olympia; Temple Lentz, who ran Vancouver Mayor Tim Leavitt’s campaign in 2009; and Jeremy Zegas, an aide to state Sen. Craig Pridemore.
Clark County commissioners will make the final appointment.
County Commissioner Steve Stuart tells The Oregonian he plans to tentatively schedule the commissioners’ interview with the candidates and a vote for Wednesday afternoon.
