GREENVILLE, N.C. — Police in North Carolina say a man armed with a shotgun wounded one person at a law firm, then crossed a busy street and shot three more people in a Wal-Mart parking lot before officers subdued him.
Authorities say after the shooting at Kellum Law Firm, the gunman crossed five lanes of traffic in a busy business area and ran to the store parking lot, where he began shooting.
Greenville Police Chief Hassan Aden says officers confronted the suspect and shot him after he fired at them.
Aden said at a news conference that all those who were shot were undergoing surgery Friday afternoon. Their conditions weren’t immediately known.
Greenville is about 85 miles east of Raleigh.
