SPANAWAY — The family of a Spanaway soldier says he was killed Tuesday in Afghanistan by a roadside bomb.
Sgt. Jose San Crisostomo served 40 years in the Army.
KOMO-TV reports his wife, Patricia, was at Dover Air Force Base in Delaware today for the return of his body to the United States.
She told KOMO the 59-year-old would have celebrated his birthday on Aug. 29.
The Department of Defense said Crisostomo died while supporting combat operations.
