SEATTLE — Five Washington tribes will be getting a total of $1 million in federal grant money to help them improve sex offender monitoring on tribal lands.
U.S. Attorney Jenny Durkan said the grants will help the tribes create or enhance sex offender registration and notification programs.
The money is going to the Confederated Tribes of Chehalis, the Lummi Nation, the Quinault Indian Nation, the Shoalwater Bay Indian Tribe and the Lower Elwha Klallam Tribe.
