EVERETT — Five vehicles crashed Thursday night on a Highway 529 bridge just south of I-5.
Latrice C. Hurn, 44, of Stanwood was transported to Providence Everett Medical Center’s Colby Campus. Her condition was unavailable Friday.
The series of collisions began on the wet bridge about 8 p.m., according to the Washington State Patrol.
It all started when a northbound 1997 GMC pickup driven by Jason C. Merrill, 27, of Everett struck the guardrail, blocking the right lane, the State Patrol said. Hurn swerved her 1996 Ford Probe to avoid Merill’s truck, and her car also struck the guardrail, troopers said.
Then a 1997 Honda Accord driven by Nancy H. Kaibe, 43, of Marysville swerved into the left lane to avoid Hurn, troopers said. A 2000 Chevrolet Prism driven by Robin M. Roberts-Good collided with the back of the Accord, and a 1974 Volkswagen Beetle struck the left guardrail, troopers said.
None of the other drivers was injured.
