LYNNWOOD — Federal agents on Wednesday offered a $5,000 reward for information in the theft last month of 100 guns from a Lynnwood gun shop.
The burglary was reported on March 26 at the Lynnwood Gun and Ammunition store in the 20800 block of Highway 99, a federally licensed gun dealer. Police believe someone broke into the store overnight and stole about 100 handguns, mostly semi-automatics.
Officials from the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and Lynnwood police have been investigating the theft. The ATF announced on Wednesday that a reward will be offered for information that leads to an arrest in the case, ATF spokeswoman Cheryl Bishop said.
“This theft is a very serious crime and without question a top investigative priority for ATF,” said Kelvin Crenshaw, a special agent in charge of the investigation.
Anyone with information is asked to call ATF’s toll-free, 24-hour tip line at 800-ATF-GUNS (800-283-4867), the ATF Seattle Field Division Office at 206-389-5800 or detective Anne Miles with the Lynnwood Police Department at 425-670-5669 or 425-670-5600. Callers don’t have to give their names.
