WASHINGTON — Washington state is receiving nearly $6 million in federal stimulus funds to promote clean energy jobs.
Labor Secretary Hilda Solis said the money will go to the Washington State Workforce Training and Education Coordinating Board to train about 4,700 people.
The grants are for people with disabilities, veterans and those who have been laid off.
Sen. Patty Murray called today’s announcement “wonderful news” and said she is confident those who receive the training will be able to find jobs.
Training includes energy management and auditing.
