LAKE STEVENS – A 7-year-old girl is in critical condition at Childrens’ Hospital in Seattle after she nearly drowned in a pool Saturday.
The girl was swimming with other children when she slipped beneath the surface of the pool at Lake Connor Park, said Nick Harris, a paramedic with Snohomish County Fire District 8 in Lake Stevens. The park is private a campground at 14320 28th St. NE, east of Lake Stevens.
Another swimmer pulled her out, and a nurse from Stanwood performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation on the girl. She was breathing again when paramedics arrived, Harris said.
The girl was treated at Providence Everett Medical Center’s Colby Campus before being airlifted to Children’s, Harris said. The incident happened shortly after 3 p.m.
