TULALIP — A 7-year-old boy was run over by his family’s truck and was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center with a broken leg.
The accident occurred about 5 p.m. Sunday at the boy’s home in the 3200 block of 126th Street NW on the Tulalip Indian Reservation after family members returned from a soccer game, said Jan Jorgensen, spokeswoman for the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office.
The father reported hearing the sound of the parking brake releasing. The boy had apparently gone back to the truck and accidentally triggered the brake while reaching in for something.
The truck’s tire ran over him, breaking his femur. The injury was not life-threatening.
"He’s going to be just fine," Jorgensen said.
