8-year-old Kitsap County girl hit by truck

BREMERTON — An 8-year-old girl was seriously injured Sunday afternoon when she was hit by a truck while riding her bike Sunday in a neighborhood south of Port Orchard.

The Kitsap Sun reported that she was not wearing a helmet at the time. She was taken to Mary Bridge Children’s Hospital in Tacoma.

Deputies checked the 29-year-old man driving the truck but don’t believe he was speeding or impaired.
