EVERETT — Several people were arrested last week as part of a coordinated response to gang violence in areas of south Snohomish County.
In total, nine men were taken into custody. Five of the men are confirmed gang members, the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office said. A weapon, stolen vehicle and illegal drugs were collected as well.
Everett and Lynnwood in the past couple of months saw a spike in public shootings. It was unclear if the arrests were related to some of the recent gunfire.
Officers from the Sheriff’s Office, Everett Police Department, and Lynnwood Police Department made the arrests. They spent the week coordinating on gang intelligence, identifying and contacting known gang members, and providing an increased police presence where gang violence has happened.
