SNOHOMISH – A 9-year-old boy was transferred to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle after two cars collided around 2:30 p.m. on 88th Street NE close to the intersection with U.S. 2, said Craig Heike, Snohomish Fire and Rescue battalion chief.

The accident involved four people including the boy, Heike said. Two of them were transferred to Colby Campus of Providence Hospital in Everett; the other was sent to Valley General Hospital in Monroe.

Everett: Police nab three in thefts of two vehicles

With the help of coincidence, police arrested three suspects for stealing two cars Sunday afternoon, Snohomish County Sheriff’s spokeswoman Jan Jorgensen said.

Police officers located a stolen Honda Accord at Eighth Avenue W. and 132nd Street SW around 12:30 p.m., Jorgensen said. The driver fled the scene and ran through several stoplights and stop signs.

After a short police chase, the car skidded upside-down into the parking lot of Mitzel’s American Kitchen on 128th Street SW. Bystanders caught the two suspects and handed them to police officers who arrived shortly after, Jorgensen said.

Then officers found two men fighting each other nearby on 128th Street SW, she said. It turned out that one of them reportedly had stolen the other man’s car from a motel. Officers arrested the suspect.

The three suspects were arrested and booked into Snohomish County jail, Jorgensen said.

“For these suspects, crimes didn’t pay,” she said.
