What would you like the new Washington state commemorative quarter to look like?
At right are the three options from the U.S. Mint.
The state will conduct a survey in the spring to see which one folks prefer. But at The Herald, we’d like to know which one you like now. And we’re offering two ways to share your thoughts.
To praise, pan or opine:
Send an e-mail to newstips@ heraldnet.com.
To vote:
Call our vote line at 425-339-3456.
| Participate in The Herald’s phone poll by calling 425-339-3456, then press 1, 2 or 3, as shown above, to indicate your choice, or press 4 if you prefer none of the designs. Voting continues through Friday. Results will be announced in The Herald Jan. 28. |
Then:
Press 1 if you like the design with the outline of the state, salmon and apples, and Mount Rainier.
Press 2 if you prefer the salmon and mountain design.
Press 3 if you want the Northwest Coast Indian design of an orca.
Press 4 if you don’t like any of them.
You have until noon Friday to vote. The Herald will print the results of the phone poll Jan. 28.
Concepts for the quarter came from citizens who submitted more than 1,100 ideas in writing to the State Quarter Advisory Commission.
People will be able to vote for their favorite design in an online poll at www.governor.wa.gov beginning in March. The quarter commission will recommend one design to the governor, who will give final approval to the Mint.
