Having learned I do not hold the winning MegaMillions ticket sold in Washington, I can now focus all my attention on the upcoming session of the Legislature.
It is scheduled to run 105 days. But after glancing at a calendar, I think it may end after 104 days.
Why?
Because the last scheduled day is April 24 which is Easter Sunday.
I’m not saying legislators won’t work that day. But it’s a good bet many in both parties in both chambers will inform their leadership that they prefer spending Easter in some place other than the Capitol and doing something other than voting to cut funding that helps school children, the poor and the elderly.
