LYNNWOOD — Smoke from an abandoned school bus that caught fire Tuesday afternoon alarmed motorists on Highway 99.
Firefighters responded to multiple reports of clouds of black smoke in the 16100 block of Highway 99 around 2:40 p.m., Snohomish County Fire District 1 spokeswoman Leslie Hynes said.
The old, full-size school bus, which stood in the back of an empty lot, was engulfed in flames when crews arrived.
There used to be a wood carving business at the fire scene, Hynes said.
Nobody was hurt. The cause of the fire was unknown Tuesday evening.
