Accident sends man to hospital

A Snohomish man was transported to a local hospital early Thursday morning after a two-car accident off Highway 522 just west of U.S. 2 in Monroe, officials said.

Andrew Yeagley, 22, received a head injury and was taken by aid car to Providence Regional Medical Center Everett. His car was traveling westbound and crossed the centerline shortly before midnight, according to a Monroe Police Department accident memo.

The driver of the other car, a 23-year-old Sultan woman, was not injured.

Highway 522 was blocked in both directions for about 90 minutes while police investigated, the state Department of Transportation reported. The highway opened around 1:30 a.m. Thursday.

The accident remains under investigation.
