ARLINGTON — A one-car crash closed Highway 531 just west of Arlington for about an hour Wednesday.
The state Department of Transportation said a vehicle hit a power pole about 6:10 a.m., knocking down power lines across Highway 531 between Arlington and Wenberg State Park.
The lines were removed from the roadway about 7:25 a.m. The driver suffered minor injuries, the State Patrol reported.

Deadline for flood-damage aid extended: The deadline to apply for federal relief for private nonprofit organizations affected by flooding Oct. 15-23 has been extended to Jan. 6.
Public assistance is available for private nonprofit groups in seven Washington counties, including Snohomish, Skagit and Whatcom.
