EVERETT – Three lanes are back open on southbound I-5 but a backup continues on the freeway.
After a blast of hail there were at least seven separate accidents, Washington State Patrol trooper Kirk Rudeen said. Three of those involved semi-trucks and passenger cars. No serious injuries were reported.
Crews have moved the damaged vehicles to the shoulder but the right lane remained blocked about 3:15 p.m. Traffic is backed up for several miles and drivers are being advised to find an alternate route.
