Navy Seaman Apprentice Garrett M. Massey, a 2006 graduate of Kamiak High School, has reported for duty at the Navy and Marine Intelligence Training Center, Virginia Beach, Va. Massey joined the Navy Reserve in August.
Air Force Airman Justin M. Baxley graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas. Baxley is the son of David Baxley of Oak Harbor, and is a 2009 graduate of Coupeville High School.
Army Sgt. Joanne M. Baines has returned to Fort Richardson, Alaska, after a year-long deployment to Afghanistan. The soldier is a member of the 109th Transportation Company, 17th Combat Sustainment Support Battalion, 3rd Maneuver Enhancement Brigade. Baines is a heavy vehicle operator and team leader with seven years of military service. She is the daughter of Aniceta and Nilo Jornales of Oak Harbor, and is a 2001 graduate of Oak Harbor High School.
