Navy Seaman Recruit Nicholas M. Gatmen, son of Lisa Aguilar of Granite Falls and Felix Gatmen of Bremerton, recently completed U.S. Navy basic training at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Ill. Gatmen is a 2006 graduate of Mariner High School.
Navy Seaman Apprentice Christian J. Scannell, son of Laurie Davenport of Marysville and Jeremiah J. Scannell of Reno, Nev., recently completed U.S. Navy basic training at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Ill. Scannell is a 2004 graduate of Massanutten Military Academy of Woodstock, Va.
Navy Seaman Andrew J. Pulliam, son of Rowena and Terry Pulliam of Oak Harbor, recently completed U.S. Navy basic training at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Ill. Pulliam is a 2004 graduate of Mount Carmel High School of San Diego, Calif.

Navy Seaman Recruit Kyle B. Berti, a 2006 graduate of Snohomish High School, recently completed U.S. Navy basic training at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Ill.
Navy Seaman Recruit Peter R. Burgess, son of Lisa and Marshall House of Oak Harbor, recently completed U.S. Navy basic training at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Ill. He graduated with honors. Burgess is a 2006 graduate of Dickinson High School in North Dakota.
Sailors aboard the Everett-based USS Abraham Lincoln participated in the National Day of Prayer on May 1. Nearly 100 personnel attended. The ship’s Full Gospel Choir sang and Chief Petty Officer Marvin Quiambao played his guitar. Speakers included Lincoln’s commanding officer Capt. Patrick Hall and Rear Adm. Scott Van Buskirk, commander of the Carrier Strike Group 9. The Lincoln is about two months into its seven-month deployment.
