Army Staff Sgt. Raymond J. Howard has arrived for duty in Marysville. Howard, a recruiter with eight years of military service, is assigned to the Marysville Recruiting Station. He is the son of Randall and Juanita Placker of Boron, Calif.
Army Pfc. Tyler J. Fields has graduated from basic infantry training at Fort Benning, Columbus, Ga. He is the son of Timothy Fields and Tina Fields, both of Granite Falls. Fields is a 2007 graduate of Granite Falls High School.
Army Reserve Pfc. Jason M. Dickson has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia, S.C. He is the son of Terry Dickson of Oak Harbor and grandson of Janet Weiser of Delaware, Ohio.
Air Force Airman 1st Class Scott T. Adams has graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas. Adams earned distinction as an honor graduate of the course. He is the son of Wayne Adams of Arlington. The airman graduated in 2003 from Granite Falls High School and received an associate degree in 2004 from the Universal Technical Institute in Phoenix.
Air Force Master Sgt. Lorin M. Ladson is serving in southwest Asia. The serviceman is part of the 380th Air Expeditionary Wing. Ladson, an aircraft fabrication flight chief, has served in the military for seven years. He is the son of Gene and Margaretta Ladson of Belle Fourche, S.D. His wife, Karen, is the daughter of Alfred and Marti Love of Mukilteo.
Army Pvt. Jason J. Pocorus has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia, S.C. Pocorus is the son of Theresa Pocorus of Gold Bar and a 2007 graduate of Sultan High School.
