Navy Seaman Recruit Joshua T. Wixson, a 2004 graduate of Sultan High School, recently completed U.S. Navy basic training at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Ill.

Navy Seaman Kelsey-Anne S. Nicholls, daughter of Berrianne and Phillp Nicholls of Edmonds, recently completed U.S. Navy basic training at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Ill.

Dylan Farmer recently was commissioned as a lieutenant in the Marine Corps. Farmer is a 2003 graduate of Lake Stevens High School and a 2007 graduate of the University of Washington. He attended officer candidate school during the summers of 2005 and 2006 in Quantico, Va. The lieutenant is the son of Charles and Marty Farmer of Snohomish and the brother of Shannon Farmer of Seattle. His brother Tyler is a sergeant in the Marine Corps currently serving a third deployment in Iraq.

Navy Seaman Blaine G. Waldhalm, son of Hanna Frostad of Oak Harbor and Steve Waldhalm of Upland, Calif., recently completed U.S. Navy basic training at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Ill.

Navy Seaman Jeffrey M. Burpee, son of Mary and Timothy Burpee of Snohomish, recently completed U.S. Navy basic training at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Ill. Burpee is a 2002 graduate of Snohomish High School of Snohomish and a 2005 graduate of Everett Community College.
