Navy Petty Officer 3rd Class Patrick Sherritt was recently promoted to his current rank. Sherritt is stationed at Whidbey Island Naval Air Station. He is the son of Phil and Sharon Sherritt of Marysville.

Axel Wolff, son of Dr. Peter and Ruth Wolff of Arlington, recently graduated from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, N.Y. A 2003 graduate of Archbishop Murphy High School, Wolff studied international relations at West Point. He was commissioned as a second lieutenant in the Army upon graduation and will complete his officer basic course at Fort Knox, Ky.

Army Reserve Pfc. Tristan L. Schott has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Sill near Lawton, Okla. Schott is the son of Edward and Deanna Schott of Lynnwood. The private is a 2006 high school graduate of Edmonds Community College.

Army National Guard Capt. Richard W. Gouveia has been mobilized for deployment to Iraq. Gouveia is an operations officer normally assigned to the 506th Military Police Detachment in Tacoma. He is the son of David Modena and Yola Modena, both of Monroe. The captain earned a bachelor’s degree in 1995 from Washington State University.
