Air Force Airman Mathew K. Thorne of Camano Island has graduated from basic training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas. During the six weeks of training, recruits study the Air Force mission, undergo physical exercise, learn rifle marksmanship and more. In addition, airmen who complete basic training earn credits toward an associate degree through the Community College of the Air Force. Thorne is the son of Andrew Thorne of Camano Island, and Johanna Magneson of Stanwood. Thorne is a 2004 graduate of Stanwood High School.
Air Force Airman Robert J. Street has graduated from basic training at Lackland Air Force Base. He is the son of Ramond Street of Spanaway, and Teresa Soulier of Bothell. Street is a 2006 graduate of Bothell High School.
Air Force Cadet Kevin M. McGuiness has entered basic cadet training at the U.S. Air Force Academy, Colorado Springs, Colo. He is preparing to enter the first academic year at the academy. Cadets must complete the six-week, two-phased orientation program prior to entering their freshman year. He is the son of Michael and Karen McGuiness of Snohomish. McGuiness is a 2005 graduate of Archbishop Thomas J. Murphy High School, Everett.
Air Force Airman Joseph P. Boyle has graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas. He is the son of Tim Boyle of Portland, Ore., and Nancy Chapin of Langley. Boyle is a 2003 graduate of South Whidbey High School.
