Marine Private First Class Caleb J. Olsen, was promoted to his current rank upon graduation from Marine Corp Recruit Depot San Diego. His next orders are to report to School of Infantry, Camp Pendleton. Olsen, son of Ken and Claire Olsen of Lake Stevens, is a 2005 graduate of Lake Stevens High School.

Air Force Airman 1st Class David A. Bramall has graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas. Bramall is the son of Phillip Bramall of Everett. The airman is a 2005 graduate of Everett High School.

Navy Seaman Apprentice James N. Johnston, a 2005 graduate of Kamiak High School, was recently promoted to his current rank upon graduation from recruit training at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Ill.

Air Force Master Sgt. Keith W. Nelsen is currently deployed to an overseas forward-operating location to support the missions of Operations Enduring Freedom and Iraqi Freedom. The master sergeant is a section chief regularly assigned to the 354th Logistics Readiness Squadron, Eielson Air Force Base, Fairbanks, Alaska. He is the stepson of Eleanor Nelsen of Oak Harbor and son of Darlene Nelsen of Aberdeen. Nelsen is a 1985 graduate of Weatherwax High School, Aberdeen.

Air Force Reserve Maj. Melanie B. Carey is currently deployed overseas at a forward-operating location in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. The major is the officer in charge of the contingency area staging facility regularly assigned to the 446th Aeromedical Staging Squadron, McChord Air Force Base, Tacoma. She is the daughter of Marty Barnett of Tahlequah, Okla. and the late Robert Barnett. Her husband, John, is the son of Robert and Donna Carey of Oak Harbor.

Navy Seaman Recruit Laura A. Minish, daughter of Teri Minsh of Granite Falls and Ken Schauman of Arlington, recently completed U.S. Navy basic training at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Ill. Minish is a 2005 graduate of Granite Falls High School.

Navy Fireman Recruit Torry T. Piechowski, son of Bobbi and Derik Piechowski of Coupeville, recently completed U.S. Navy basic training at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Ill. Piechowski is a 2005 graduate of Coupeville High School.

Army Staff Sgt. Jedediah A. Wells has re-enlisted in the U.S. Army for five years after six years of dedicated military service. Wells, an electronic warfare systems repairer, is assigned to Fort Campbell, Ky. He is the son of Rulon and Linda Wells of Oak Harbor.

Navy Fireman Apprentice Griffith E. Riensche, son of Barbara Penrose of Redmond, and David Riensche of Stanwood, was recently promoted to his current rank upon graduation from recruit training at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Ill. Riensche is a 2004 graduate of Best High School of Kirkland.

Navy Seaman Recruit Jonathan M. Zamora, son of Josie and stepson of Christopher Oatley of Oak Harbor, recently completed U.S. Navy basic training at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Ill. Zamora is a 2005 graduate of Bible Baptist School of Oak Harbor.
