Army Spec. Jamie C. Trattles has been deployed to Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. Trattles, a chemical operations specialist, is regularly assigned to one of the various camps and units of the 2nd Infantry Division, Eighth U.S. Army based in South Korea. Trattles is the granddaughter of Judy Polzin and niece of Christa Polzin of Edmonds. She is a 2001 graduate of Edmonds Woodway High School.
Army Staff Sgt. Travis L. Switalski has been deployed to Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. Switalski, an infantryman, is regularly assigned to one of the various camps and units of the 2nd Infantry Division, Eighth U.S. Army based in South Korea. Switalski is the son of Timothy Switalski of Oak Harbor and Luanne DiMaggio of Kettle Falls. His wife, Metta, is the daughter of John Smith of Anacortes. Switalski is a 1996 graduate of Anacortes High School.
Air Force Senior Airman Joshua S. Diggs has been deployed to Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. Diggs, a tactical air command and control journeyman, is regularly assigned to one of the various camps and units of the 2nd Infantry Division, Eighth U.S. Army based in South Korea. Diggs is the son of Charles and Mary Diggs of Marysville. He is a 2001 graduate of Marysville Pilchuck High School.
Sean D. Force has graduated from the Army ROTC Leader Development and Assessment Course at Fort Lewis in Tacoma. The course is intended to develop and evaluate each cadet’s officer potential as a leader. Force is the son of Kathleen Force of Brier. He is a 2001 graduate of Cheney High School.
Frank J. Nelson III has graduated from the Army ROTC Leader Development and Assessment Course at Fort Lewis in Tacoma. The course is intended to develop and evaluate each cadet’s officer potential as a leader. Nelson is the son of Frank and Robin Nelson of Oak Harbor. He is a 2003 graduate of Oak Harbor High School.
Army Pvt. Kyle A. Welch has graduated from basic training in Fort Leonardwood, Mo. Welch is stationed in Monterrey, Calif. studying Spanish to be a linguist. Welch is the son of Ted and Wendy Houseman of Darrington. He is a 2004 graduate of Darrington High School.
Kevin D. Paul of Snohomish has enlisted as a cavalry scout in the U.S. Army. Paul will leave in March for basic training at Fort Knox, Ky. Paul is the son of Rick Trusty of Tacoma and Sandra Masterjohn of Lakewood. He is a 2004 graduate of American Indian Heritage High School in Seattle.
