Michelle Sowers has graduated from recruiting training at Great Lakes Naval Training Center in Great Lakes, Ill. Sowers is the daughter of Steven and Beth Sowers of Snohomish. She is a 2004 graduate of Monroe High School.
Army Pvt. Travis G. Petersen has graduated from the light-wheel vehicle mechanic advanced individual training course at Fort Jackson in Columbia, S.C. He was trained to perform maintenance, troubleshoot and repair wheeled vehicles and related mechanical components, as well as operate a wheeled vehicle crane, hoist and winch assemblies. Petersen is the son of Kris and Charlotte Becker of Oak Harbor. He is a 1999 graduate of Oak Harbor High School.
Erik Solberg has graduated from the Army ROTC Leadership Development and Assessment Course at Fort Lewis in Tacoma. His leadership skills were developed and evaluated, as well as his performance and progress in officer traits, qualities and professionalism. Solberg is the son of Mary and Dale Solberg of Sultan. He is a 2001 graduate of Sultan High School.
Brandon P. McCartney has graduated from the Army ROTC Leadership Development and Assessment Course at Fort Lewis in Tacoma. His leadership skills were developed and evaluated, as well as his performance and progress in officer traits, qualities and professionalism. McCartney is the son of Patrick and Kathryn McCartney of Oak Harbor. He is a 1994 graduate of Oak Harbor High School and a received his associate degree in 2003 from Skagit Valley College in Mount Vernon.
