Navy Petty Officer 3rd Class Ryan Waller, a 2008 graduate of Lake Stevens High School, currently is serving onboard the aircraft carrier USS George H.W. Bush. Waller, recently promoted to his current rank, is an electronics technician. He joined the Navy in 2009. Waller is the son of Derek and Lisa Johnson of Eagle, Idaho, grandson of Larry and LaVi Waller of Granite Falls, and great-grandson of Hazel Waller of Monroe.

Navy Seaman Recruit Mocetuitoga E. Vasukilakeba, daughter of Veniana and Wilisoni Vasukilakeba of Everett, recently completed basic training at U.S. Navy Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Ill. Vasukilakeba is a 2011 graduate of Mariner High School.

Navy Fireman Lakin M. Quillen, son of Tamera and Tim Quillen of Granite Falls, recently completed U.S. Navy basic training at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Ill. Quillen is a 2008 graduate of Granite Falls High School.
