Navy Seaman Kayleigh A. Betschart, daughter of Becka Betschart of Monroe, recently completed basic training at U.S. Navy Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Ill.
Navy Seaman Apprentice Justin I. Mickelson, son of Jewel Nickolson of Lake Stevens and Terry Mickelson of Stanwood, has reported for duty at Navy and Marine Intelligence Training Center, Virginia Beach, Va. Mickelson is a 2010 graduate of Stanwood High School.
Navy Seaman Recruit Blake E. Buotte, son of Vickie Sokol of Petersburg, Alaska, and David Boutte of Lynnwood, completed U.S. Navy basic training at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Ill. Buotte is a 2005 graduate of Petersburg High School.
The Edmonds Cemetery Board is planning its 29th annual Memorial Day ceremony. The board hopes to honor family members of men and women who have sacrificed their lives during service to the country.
