An Army soldier from Snohomish County is listed among Army’s top staff trainers. Army Reserve Staff Sgt. Kyle Drube participated recently in the 2010 Drill Sergeant of the Year competition at Fort Eustis and Fort Monroe, Va. Drube, who represented 95th Reserve Division, was born in Edmonds and graduated from Granite Falls High School. Although he did not win the title, Drube is one of the Army’s best trainers. Only eight noncommissioned officers reached the top national level of the four-day competition. Out of thousands, only five active Army and three Army Reserve drill sergeants qualified to compete for the title.
Army Sgt. 1st Class Carl Miller has graduated from Central Texas College, Killeen, Texas, with an associate degree as a participant in the GoArmyEd program. Miller, an aircraft repair supervisor, is assigned to the Henry H. Lind Noncommissioned Officer Academy at Fort Lewis. He is the son of Kathleen Miller of Snohomish and Darrell Miller of Mill Creek. Miller earned an associate degree in 2010 from Central Texas College, Killeen, Texas.
Army Pvt. Jayson Farrow has graduated from the Infantryman One Station Unit Training at Fort Benning, Columbus, Ga. The training consists of basic infantry training and advanced individual training. Farrow is the son of Carla Mauseth and James Birkett, both of Lynnwood.
Army Pvt. Sepe Benjamin has graduated from the automated logistical specialist advanced individual training at the Army Quartermaster Center and School, Fort Lee, Petersburg, Va. Benjamin is the daughter of Jarinda Robin of Marysville.
