Air Force Airman Lucas Williams graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas. He is the son of April Williams of Lake Stevens, and a 2009 graduate of Lake Stevens High School.

Air Force Airman Jalisa Griffin graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas. She is the daughter of Rhonda and Steve Griffin of Marysville and granddaughter of Arlene Russell of Everett. Griffin is a 2009 graduate of Marysville-Pilchuck High School.

Army Pvt. Sara Baumgardner has graduated from Basic Combat Training at Fort Sill, Lawton, Okla. She is the daughter of Anne Baumgardner of Arlington and is a 2008 graduate of Arlington High School.

Navy Reserve Seaman Eric Rodriguez, son of Blanca and stepson of Patrick Dowling of Everett, recently completed basic training at U.S. Navy Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Ill.

Rodriguez is a 2009 graduate of Jackson High School.

Army Spc. Christopher Wren graduated from the M1 Abrams Tank system maintenance advanced individual training course at Fort Knox, Ky. He is the son of Terry Wren of Arlington.

Army Sgt. Joshua Lorello has returned to Fort Richardson, Anchorage, Alaska, after being deployed to Afghanistan for a year. The soldier is one of 3,500 members of the 4th Airborne Brigade Combat Team (Airborne), 25th Infantry Division stationed at Fort Richardson. The airborne brigade served in three eastern provinces of Afghanistan. Soldiers improved roads, provided vocational training in construction and civics, improved and re-opened 29 schools, remodeled six medical clinics and improved three district courthouses. Lorello, normally assigned to the 425th Brigade Special Troops Battalion, has served in the military for five years. He is the son of Paul and Tammy Lorello of Arlington and is a 2003 graduate of Lakewood High School.

Navy Seaman Recruit David Black, son of Thomas Black of Lake Stevens, recently completed basic training at U.S. Navy Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Ill. Black is a 2004 graduate of Lake Stevens High School.

Navy Seaman David Shultz, a 1997 graduate of Cascade High School, Everett, recently completed basic training at U.S. Navy Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Ill.

Coast Guard Seaman Patrick McCarty, son of Nancy and Kenneth McCarty of Marysville, recently graduated from U.S. Coast Guard Recruit Training Center in Cape May, N. J. McCarty is a 2005 graduate of Marysville-Pilchuck High School.

Army Pvt. Brian Hughs graduated from the M1 Abrams Tank system maintenance advanced individual training course at Fort Knox, Ky. He is the son of Carlton and Sharron Hughs of Oak Harbor, and is a 2007 graduate of Oak Harbor High School.

Air Force Tech. Sgt. Justin Buchholz has arrived for duty at the 361st Recruiting Squadron in Oak Harbor. His uncle, Kurt Buchholz, lives in Oak Harbor.

Navy Seaman Recruit Dillon Bradley, a 2008 graduate of Oak Harbor High School, recently completed basic training at U.S. Navy Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Ill.
