GIG HARBOR — Actress Julie Andrews was in Western Washington this weekend to accept an award at the Gig Harbor Film Festival on behalf of her late husband.
The News Tribune reports a sold-out crowd of 300 paid $75 each to participate in a question-and-answer session with the stage and screen legend. Then she accepted the festival’s lifetime achievement award on behalf of her late husband, film director Blake Edwards.
Andrews’ connection to Gig Harbor is through resident David DePatie, who created the animated “Pink Panther” character for her husband. DePatie presented the award to Andrews on Saturday evening.
