FAIRBANKS, Alaska — Two Alaska teens charged with burglary say they blame boredom and TV.
The Fairbanks Daily News-Miner reports that 19-year-old Jasmine States and a 16-year-old girl were charged with burglary after a break-in was reported at a Fairbanks area home.
Alaska State Troopers said States told them she and the girl were bored and had been watching a television show about burglaries when they decided to go break into homes.
Troopers began investigating after a homeowner reported a car driving around her home, and a second homeowner called a short time later reporting noises and a woman walking out of her detached garage.
Prosecutors at the Fairbanks district attorney’s office were not immediately available, and a call to the Fairbanks Public Defender’s office was not immediately returned.
