EVERETT — A man who was killed during an apparent home-invasion robbery on Saturday has been identified as Wayne O. Williams, 46, of Phoenix.
Williams died from multiple gunshot wounds, according to the Snohomish County Medical Examiner’s Office. His death was ruled a homicide.
Williams allegedly had burst into a home along Gothic Way south of city limits. He and an accomplice sprayed pepper spray and demanded money from the occupants.
A roommate heard the commotion and entered the room with a gun, according to police. Williams was shot and killed. His accomplice ran away.
Williams’ name was made public late Wednesday.
As of Thursday morning, there was no new information available about the accomplice, who remains at large and may have been injured by gunfire.
The man who opened fire has not been arrested while police investigate.
Detectives last weekend requested that anyone with information call the sheriff’s tip line at 425-388-3845.
